We had a baby girl on Saturday, January 5th! Last Thursday we went for the 38 week doctor’s appointment where Terra had gained 8 pounds in one week. Because we were high risk and Terra’s rapid weight gain the doctor suggested that if we wanted to induce the next day that would be fine with him. We prayed and decided that night to go in Friday night to be induced.

Cora Grace Lindsey was born Saturday night at 6:45pm weighing in at 7lbs 10ozs and measured 18.5 inches long; imagine what another 2 weeks (potentially another 2 lbs would have done)! She has blue eyes and a lot of white-blonde hair like her dad did until he was a teenager and grew out his mullet.

Cora Grace is a name that comes from genealogy on both sides of the family and is not a name which would not normally be duplicated by a student in our ministry. Cora is Ryan’s great-grandmother’s name and the week of her birth we found that Terra’s grandpa had an aunt who’s name was also Cora. Corazon is heart in Spanish and with the difficulties we have had getting pregnant we are blessed by God’s heart (Cora) of grace (Grace).

We thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers during the pregnancy and delivery. We now need them even more as we adjust from swinging 30-somethings to parents who now have to weigh ministry, family, and all the other facets of which we are just becoming aware.

We hope in a week to have a more established schedule and adjust to the lack of sleep most parents are well acquainted with. This is also the time that the students are returning and will be busy (at least Ryan will be) with the students. Karen, Terra’s mom, was able to be here moments before the delivery and will be here for the next week or two. Please pray also for the ministry as this semester the students will fill the spot that Terra will step out of the time being. Terra has done a great job preparing the girls for this task through discipleship and Bible study so we are sure they will do splendid!
